Provider profile

Timothy D. Wagner, M.D.

Associate Professor

Residency Program Director

Dr. Wagner serves as the Director of the Radiation Oncology Residency Program. He
specializes in Head and Neck and Thoracic Cancers and has a career in both the
military and academic medicine. Serving at Tripler Army Medical Center in
Honolulu, he participated in the care of hundreds of Pacific island patients as
part of the Pacific Island Health Care Project giving him the opportunity to
study and treat patients from around the Pacific islands, including a large
population of patients with advanced head and neck cancers. While he was
on the faculty at Baylor College of Medicine, he studied barriers and access to
care, individual and family coping mechanisms, and the technical aspects of
treatment delivery. Dr. Wagner enthusiastically continues to research ways
to improve these aspects of care and treatment delivery for the patients of San
Antonio and the surrounding communities.
