Joseph W Agnew, MD

Associate Professor / Clinical

Joseph Agnew is an Associate Professor / Clinical for UT Health San Antonio and has been in the Division of General Medicine since 2018. Dr. Agnew serves as a hospitalist at Audie L. Murphy VA Hospital, where he is also the director of the Observation / Short Stay Unit. 

Dr. Agnew specializes in Rural Medicine / Health and serves as the Medical Director of El Campo Memorial Hospital. His professional interests include rural medicine, hospital medicine procedures, critical care, protocol development, patient safety, quality improvement, resource management and efficiency, length of stay optimization, patient communication and compliance, resident wellbeing and burnout prevention, and medical education.
