The PhD in Nursing Science program is a research-based doctoral degree, which prepares students for careers as clinical nurse scientists and faculty. Students may enter the program at the Post-BSN or Post-MSN level.

Admitted Student Profiles
The Ph.D. in Nursing Science program requires either a BSN or an MSN degree from a CCNE, ACEN, or NLNAC accredited program. Additionally, applicants must currently hold licensure as an RN in Texas, or hold a compact license with multi-state privileges that includes Texas.
All Ph.D. applicants will be required to submit three professional references with their NursingCAS application. In addition, candidates for graduate admissions will be invited to interview and submit a writing sample.
The admissions application, NursingCAS fee, and official transcripts are due to NursingCAS by the application deadline. Please submit official transcripts of all attended schools to:

Application and fee
A completed NursingCAS application must be submitted before the application deadline. All fees are accessed through the NursingCAS application. The Office of Admissions fee is $45 and is non-refundable. The NursingCAS fee is separate and is set by NursingCAS.
