Katherine Bartush, MD, was a star athlete in high school and college. But constant ACL injuries kept her on the sidelines. Today, Bartush is the director of sports medicine at UT Health San Antonio and the official sports medicine surgeon for UTSA Athletics. She talks about her experience - and determination - to help others with similar injuries in the latest issue of San Antonio Woman magazine.

Dr. Katherine "Katie" Christine Bartush has returned to UT Health San Antonio to practice Sports Medicine and Foot & Ankle surgery. She focuses on treating patients' knee, shoulders, elbows, hips and ankles at the Medical Arts & Research Center in the Medical Center.
Throughout her training, she has earned awards for excellence in Orthopedics and research. She has been published in peer-reviewed journals, written surgical technique articles, and performed clinical research. She is also a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society.
