Dr. Kimberly Kone Ellis began seeing patients at UT Health Physicians Medical Drive Primary Care Center in August of 2016. She has special interests in medicine that she explored during residency and will continue into her practice that include: primary preventative medicine, chronic disease management, pediatric and adolescent health care, women’s healthcare including gynecology and contraceptive counseling and administration, and office procedures including joint injections. She strongly supports the values of a patient centered medical home as well as an evolving partnership between patient and physician to help achieve optimal patient care. She is also an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UT Health San Antonio, and enjoys helping her patients as well as mentoring medical students.
Dr. Ellis is originally from Amarillo, TX. She attended college at Texas A&M University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science. She attended medical school at St. George’s School of Medicine in Grenada and completed her clinical clerkships in Brooklyn, NY. She completed her residency in Family and Community Medicine at University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, Texas. During residency she served as Chief Resident, received a departmental distinction in Pediatrics, and was awarded Resident of the Year. She is an avid runner and enjoys competing in races. She also enjoys attending sporting events, especially at her alma mater, Texas A&M.
