University Health Transplant Institute's innovative approach to lung transplantation has led us to become one of the shortest wait times programs in the country for patients - from listing to transplant.

Since the inception of the Lung Transplant Program in 1987, University Health Transplant Institute’s advanced lung disease program offers complete care and treatment for a broad range of lung diseases and respiratory conditions.

Every patient referred to our lung transplant program benefits from our physicians and surgeons medical expertise and surgical excellence.

Our team of surgeons has changed the way lung transplants are performed around the world. Our multidisciplinary team of specialists includes pulmonology, transplant, nursing, immunology, social work, respiratory therapy and other areas of expertise who partner with patients to develop a treatment plan tailored to meet a patient's specific needs.

In addition to transplantation, our program offers pulmonary hypertension management, interventional pulmonology and specialized care for cystic fibrosis patients.
